Hyperlink-Induced Topic Search (HITS) is a link analysis algorithm that rates Web pages.
There are Hub pages and Authority pages. The first one
are good link lists for a subject. The other one often found in good hub pages for a
subject and are involved with the subject. It is better to questions
of general interest. Thus, a good hub for a subject shows to many authority pages for
that subject; and a good authority for a subject indicated for many good
hub pages for that subject.
1. Insert pages
- Manually
- From file
- txt
- xml
You have to fill in 2-10 different letters.
You have to give only .txt or .xml file format. For convenience, you can download the example of file you want to see the template.
The file should consist of all the pages links, each one of them must be in a line.
This file should consist not only of all the pages links, but also the number of execution iterations.
All pages links have the format shown above. For example, 'AB'
means A->B. At least two pages links must be given and not more than ten!
In files, more than two consecutive letters are not allowed! Duplicates are
deleted!
After you fill out everything you want, click on tab '2. Insert parameters'.
2. Insert parameters
This step is skipped by uploading an xml file!
At this point, all the parameters of the algorithm must be given except for the pages links that were given before (if you give a txt file).
Field 'Execution iterations' means how many iterations you want the algorithm to execute and ranges from 1 to 10.
Then, you have to check at least two edges that will exist in graph.
After you fill out everything you want, click on tab '3. Results'.
3. Results
You see the results.
